Helen Mirren Has Twins at SAG Awards
Eddie Murphy brings cue card to press room
Ryan Gosling & Rachel McAdams
Helen Mirren juggles "the twins"
Jaime Pressly & Eric Cubiche
Mary Tyler Moore & Julie Andrews
Ashton Kutcher & Demi Moore

Los Angeles, January 28, 2007 – Helen Mirren informed us that she was carrying twins on Sunday at the SAG Awards! Relax - that’s how she referred to her two statuettes for her two best actress wins for portraying two different Queen Elizabeths.

When the cast of Grey’s Anatomy stopped in the backstage press room to celebrate their ensemble award, scandal-plagued Isaiah Washington was conspicuously absent. He was reportedly in some sort of “rehab” for publicly making homophobic remarks about fellow cast member T. R. Knight. Knight did attend the Screen Actors Guild ceremony.

There were some very public displays of affection on the red carpet. We caught Teri Hatcher and her new love Stephen Kay making out like teenagers. Ryan Gosling and Rachel McAdams nuzzled, as did Katherine Heigl and Josh Kelley, and Eva Longoria and Tony Parker. My Name is Earl star Jaime Pressly was glowing alongside fiancé Eric Cubiche – they’re expecting their first child in May.

Sienna Miller, Glamorous Factory Girl
Guy Pearce
Mena Suvari
Sienna Miller
Jimmy Fallon
Jack Huston

New York, January 29, 2007 – “She sings. She’s hilarious. She cooks! She made a roast chicken one night”, Jimmy Fallon said of his Factory Girl costar Sienna Miller at the premiere Monday night. “What does this girl not do?”, he added.

And then, there she was in a vintage beaded flapper dress: the bubbly, animated, energetic Sienna, who plays the tragic Warhol icon Edie Sedgwick. While she’s heard the criticisms, Miller is at peace with her portrayal. “Her [Sedgwick’s] brother saw it and said that he loves it. And her husband thought that it was like her. So I feel like if those people are happy, then I don’t mind so much”, she said.

Fallon calls Edie’s story heartbreaking, but Miller saw some brightness in the days when the “it” girl first arrived in Manhattan. “She was just so ready to go out and have fun, and she just wanted to live. That was really fun to do”, the British star said.

Fallon would have loved to have hung around Warhol’s factory back in the 1960s, but director George Hickenlooper said that his research on the film made him realize that it was a “very selfish era”.

Appropriately, they took the party over to the Chelsea Hotel’s Star Lounge, where Miller, Fallon, Guy Pearce and Mena Suvari hung out with fashion types, and the DJ inexplicably played 80's and 90's dance music.

New York, January 25, 2007 - What’s better than a private performance by Jon Bon Jovi? The crowd at the R.S.V.P. to Help fundraiser went crazy at the finale, when Richie Sambora joined him in singing “Wanted: Dead or Alive”. To top it off, the hermit-like Howard Stern made a rare evening appearance with his lovely lady, Beth Ostrosky. This was the first time we’d spoken to the shock jock, and he was very laid back and friendly. Someone asked Stern what was written on the front of his t-shirt, and he replied, “I don’t know. I just bought it; I I haven’t read it.”

The event not only raised money for Bon Jovi’s housing efforts, it also served as the launch of co-host Kenneth Cole’s new men’s fragrance, R.S.V.P. We saw Petra Nemcova, Russell Simmons, David Schwimmer, Lewis Black and Donna Karan roaming the vast Tribeca Rooftop space and shimmying to Bon Jovi’s set.

Charles & Camilla Throw Down in Philly, Shoot Hoops in Harlem
Charles smiled when we praised his b-ball skills
Prince Charles shoots hoops
Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, in NYC
Charles & Camilla inspect ceremonial guard at Independence Hall in Philadelphia

January 27-28, 2007 – We spent a very, very posh weekend with British royalty, and we didn’t have to endure a fox hunt, since Prince Charles and Camilla, Duchess of Cornwall, graciously came to us here in the U.S.

On Saturday the couple checked to see how Philadelphia has fared since 1776, when the U.S. left the British womb. Appropriately, they visited Independence Hall, where renegades signed a paper declaring freedom from English rule, and the Liberty Bell that famously cracked from overzealous use. Charles and Camilla inspected the plumed ceremonial guard that, we were surprised to learn, was an American regiment. The couple also went to West Philadelphia, and attended the venerable Academy of Music’s 150th anniversary celebration, where another royal, Sir Rod Stewart, provided the evening’s entertainment.

Thunderous cheers rang out in a New York City children’s center gymnasium on Sunday, when Charles sank a basketball on his second one-handed shot. The couple chatted with the children. One American journalist was met with a royal assistant’s “how-dare-you address the prince” glare when she asked Charles if he’ll be coming back again to New York. But OAN got a big smile from Prince Charles when we complimented his basketball skills with, “Nice shot!”

Overall, Camilla was the more jovial and warmer of the two. The crowds of curious onlookers in both Philadelphia and New York were surprisingly thin. One British journalist surveying the street outside the Harlem Children’s Zone, remarked, “Not a lot of punters here today.”
