Dancing With the Cars: GM Ten
Jeremy Piven dances with the cars
Eva Longoria
Lindsay Lohan arrives in peek-a-boo dress
Lindsay Lohan treads the runway
Cisco Adler worships Mischa Barton from front row
Mischa Barton waves to Cisco Adler from the runway

Los Angeles, Feb. 28, 2006 – One of our favorite annual happenings, the GM ten fashion show, in which celebrity models have to dodge the cars driving around them, kicked off Oscar week in Hollywood.

One of the celebrity models was Lindsay Lohan, whose loose-fitting, breast-exposing dress, photos of which you may have seen online, was not part of the fashion show. The malfunction happened earlier, on the red carpet when she arrived. Later on, Lohan managed to keep everything tucked in as she strutted the catwalk. We wondered if Lindsay, who was not originally slated to model, was replacing Teri Hatcher, who was listed on press releases, but wasn’t in the show.

Mischa Barton was also in the fashion show, and it seems that she and musician Cisco Adler are still an item. The two were spotted together during the day; Cisco was seated in the front row at the GM ten show, and Mischa waved to him as she tottered down the catwalk in a slinky gown. Her ex, Brandon Davis, was also in the audience.

Although Dancing with the StarsStacy Keibler was one of the models, Entourage star Jeremy Piven had the crowd roaring when he broke into a dance.

Other mannequins included Joy Bryant, Eva Longoria, Anna Kournikova, Garcelle Beauvais, and Carmen Electra, who almost tripped over her long red dress.

Folks gathered in the tent at Sunset and Vine to watch included David Spade, Nick Lachey, Vincent Gallo, Samaire Armstrong, Jenna Elfman and Adam Levine of Maroon 5. Paris Hilton arrived late. Jamie Foxx, who modeled in last year’s show, got to sit back and take it in this time. Grammy winner John Legend closed the show with a performance.

Classy Keira Knightley

Keira Knightley
Donald Sutherland

New York, November 10, 2005 – Keira Knightley is one confident 20-year-old. Stuck in traffic and turning up over an hour late for the premiere of Pride & Prejudice, she commanded the press like a pro - without a phalanx of handlers - and calmly dealt with her flagging dress, which took at least one full dive south. Keira regally pulled the dress back into place with barely a blink, and carried on with her hosting duties.

Along with Brits Brenda Blethyn, Rosamund Pike and Matthew MacFadyen, Americans Donald Sutherland and Jena Malone are also in the film.

Tara Reid: Special Anniversary Edition

Tara Reid pops out
Paris Hilton airs out

Sean Lennon & Milla Jovovich

Nov. 4, 2005 - Dear Readers - As the astute folks over at Gawker pointed out, today marks the one-year anniversary of Tara Reid's red carpet-altering wardrobe malfunction. Tara's slip was our most popular feature ever, so we've decided to resurrect it. Happy anniversary, Tara! Oh, and birthday greetings to Diddy.

The original article:

New York, November 4 – P. Diddy didn’t run naked down Wall Street at his birthday party as he promised the other day, but Tara Reid did. We thought it was intentional when the starlet dropped her dress strap, popped her left breast out and then posed, smiling for photographers. When a handler tiptoed over and tugged the loose strap back into place, a look of horror crossed Reid’s face, and we realized it was a mistake. Reid drew all the attention, outdoing Paris Hilton, who kept sweeping up her long gown, letting us know she wasn’t wearing undies. Expect major fireworks from Paris; she doesn’t take not being the center of attention lying down.

The theme of the bash was royalty, complete with trumpeters playing from a balcony, and rose petals strewn along the entrance to Cipriani Wall Street. A gigantic ball of red roses bore the inscription “PD” topped by a crown, so we can apparently return to addressing the host as P. Diddy, rather than as Sean Combs, as he demanded earlier this year.

More drama on the set of Life & Style. Co-host Cynthia Garret told us that a couple in Thursday's audience was ushered out of the studio because, er - how can we put this delicately - a guy's girlfriend was pleasuring him by using her hand.

Sean Lennon and Milla Jovovich arrived late, and were all couple-ish. Janet Jackson and Jermaine Dupri were even later, and we’ll skip the wardrobe malfunction jokes.

"Don'ts" at Glamour Awards
Petra Nemcova
Venus Williams
Diane von Furstenburg adjusts Marisa Tomei
Catherine Zeta-Jones & Michael Douglas
Zoe Saldana
Hilary Duff

New York, November 2, 2005 – Women have come so far, and accomplished so much, we were thinking at Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year Awards on Wednesday. Tennis star Venus Williams, reporter Christiane Amanpour, and Grammy-winning cancer survivor Melissa Etheridge were recognized for their achievements. Fashion designer Diane von Furstenburg, and actresses Goldie Hawn and Catherine Zeta-Jones were also honored. The least famous awardee, Pakistani women’s rights activist Mukhtar Mai, brought the biggest round of applause.

So why do women still cram themselves into slinky frocks? We caught Venus Williams, Zoe Saldana and Petra Nemcova holding up their dresses to avoid embarrassing malfunctions. Von Furstenburg stopped to adjust the sash around Oscar-winner Marisa Tomei’s waist. Why doesn’t a woman invent a technology that will keep dresses from drooping? She’ll make a lot of money, and probably win an award, because having your dress fall off is decidedly a Glamour Don't.

Lindsay Lohan Pops

Lindsay Lohan taping a music video, performs at a window, dress slipping

New York, September 29 – Late Thursday evening, we swung by West 26th Street in Chelsea where Lindsay Lohan is taping a music video. Lohan emerged from her trailer, and happily posed for the 25 or so paparazzi waiting around. She then went into a storefront, where her video set consists of a few domestic type rooms, including a bedroom and a bathroom, being shot through windows from the street.

At around 11 p.m., as Lindsay danced and sang in front of one of those windows while we all watched from outside, one of her breasts jumped out of her dress for its big music video debut. The actress’ rep dashed into the street, said that Lindsay was very upset, and asked photographers to please delete the photos. The photo at left was taken just prior to the malfunction.

Also making her music video debut is Lindsay’s little sister, Aliana Lohan.

Then they broke for lunch.

Janice Dickinson Follows in Tara Reid's Footsteps

Los Angeles, April 13 – Funny, the over-50 Janice Dickinson was the wildest one at US Weekly’s Young Hot Hollywood Style Awards. Upon arrival, Dickinson began acting out, jumping around, slapping her butt, posing provocatively and flipping her middle finger at photographers who asked her to look their way. The guy she was with lifted her up, and when he set her back down, her dress was awry and her breast hanging out. She then proceeded to walk down the red carpet that way; she never noticed her exposure, and nobody told her about it. The dress accidentally fell back into place after Dickinson jumped around some more and turned in circles. Who had gotten there immediately before the original supermodel? Tara Reid, who managed to keep everything buttoned up, and even checked to see that her top was intact before entering the party.

Paris Hilton never left Kimberly Stewart’s side, and something tell us she’s grooming Rod’s daughter to take Nicole Richie’s place on The Simple Life. Nicole was also there, with fiancé DJ A.M. We saw Nicole hanging out with Rachel Zoe, the stylist credited with classing up her appearance. We have no idea what the slogan on the front of Shar Jackson’s t-shirt means, but we totally understood what it said across the back: “Don’t f—k with me!” Hear that, Kevin? Nick Lachey and Jessica Simpson seemed relaxed and happy, and both her parents joined them.

Pops & Flops at PlayStation Fashion Show
Bijou Phillips pops out on the runway
Alek Wek rescued by good Samaritan
Bijou tries to recover
Drea de Matteo & very close friend
Nicky Hilton models

Los Angeles, March14 – Sony introduced its PlayStation Portable with a wild runway show kicking off L.A. fashion week. The top of Bijou Phillips’ strapless dress decided to take a closer look at her leggings, leaving everything hanging out. Unlike Tara Reid, Bijou noticed the malfunction, and pulled up the offending garment, and gamely trooped on, laughing.

Of course, Bijou is not a professional model, like Alek Wek, who fell flat on her back and just laid there for several moments, until someone stepped out of the audience and helped her up. She then did a little jig, giggling with embarrassment. Nicky Hilton managed to get through her modeling gig with no mishaps. Sister Paris was in Mexico launching her perfume.

Courtney Cox and David Arquette snuck in the back, as did Owen Wilson. Chris Kattan sat awkwardly next to Drea de Matteo and her boyfriend, who didn't take their hands off of each other. Hilary and Haylie Duff accessorized with a gigantic security guard. Wilmer Valderrama, Nicole Richie, Jessica Alba, Paula Abdul and Alyssa Milano all checked out the fashions and the addictive new PSP gadget.
