New York, April 30, 2009 – Kate Hudson showed up unannounced at Cartier’s celebration of 100 years in America, joining stars like Justin Timberlake, Jessica Biel, Rachel Weisz, Elton John and Eva Mendes. Later – much later, when the party had almost ended – Anne Hathaway arrived and suddenly the party seemed like a Bride Wars reunion. Thankfully, there were no catty fights, and nobody wore boring maid-of-honor dresses, either. Anne looked hot in a very mini Jill Stuart dress, and Kate showed some skin in a cutout Rachel Roy. Hathaway wasn’t the only late arrival – Demi Moore only got there moments ahead of her. A coterie of fashion designers including Phillip Lim, Zac Posen, Thakoon, Erin Fetherston and even Helmut Lang joined in toasting Cartier. Partygoers got an advance look at photographer Bruce Weber’s book, Cartier, I Love You: Celebrating 100 Years in America, which will be in bookstores in June. They also ogled some legendary one-of-a-kind Cartier gems which are on exhibition in the Fifth Avenue store through May 21 before moving to the Beverly Hills boutique on June 1. After the party, everyone hoofed over to La Grenouille for an invite-only dinner. |
