New York, April 7, 2009 – Taking the role in The Mysteries of Pittsburgh was a no-brainer for Sienna Miller. She’s a fan of author Michael Chabon, who was involved in the project, she said at the Cinema Society screening on Tuesday. “But first and foremost, Peter Sarsgaard was attached, and I was always a huge fan of his,” Miller said. Director Rawson Marshall Thurber had Sarsgaard in mind for the role – a petty criminal – while writing the script. “So when he said yes, I think I just about fell out of my chair,” Thurgood told us. Sarsgaard liked the idea of playing someone who was “so free and, in my mind, so beautiful and so fearless,” he said. After the screening, everyone headed to a party at the Cooper Square Hotel, where, for once, the bar was not the hottest spot in the room. Instead, people crowded around the Links of London display where they handed out bracelets. |
