New York, March 9, 2009 – The School of American Ballet’s annual winter ball drew a glittering crowd that included longtime supporters Chelsea Clinton and Sarah Jessica Parker, and new dance enthusiasts Moby, Penn Badgley and Blake Lively. We were especially delighted that White House social secretary Desiree Rogers took time from her insanely busy schedule to make the trip to New York for the ball. Rogers came at the behest of her friend, SAB board member Pamela Joyner, and said she was looking forward to seeing the school’s students perform, “and to be supportive of all of our cultural institutions here in the United States.” Rogers added that it is more important than ever to support the arts. “It’s a really important time to be celebratory, and to be together and to see and hear and witness all that the arts have to offer,” she said. |
