New York, February 9, 2009 – Naomi Watts plays a tough Manhattan assistant district attorney in the new thriller The International, so she was appropriately dressed in a politician-style black pantsuit for the premiere on Monday. But her suit was from Thierry Mugler’s archives. “He cuts a suit so beautifully,” she said. “The fact that I have a waistline tonight is kind of mind-blowing, considering I’ve still got my baby weight,” the mother of two added. Co-star Clive Owen wore a suit, too – by Giorgio Armani, for whom he is a spokesperson. Owen said the very well-researched script was the key to nailing his role as an Interpol agent hunting down evil bankers. How timely. After the screening, The Cinema Society hosted a late-night party at the Guggenheim Museum, which is the setting for a crucial action scene in the movie. |
