New York, February 5, 2009 – It was one cold night in New York when Confessions of a Shopaholic premiered, but the frigid temperature didn’t keep star Isla Fisher from wearing a slinky dress by Matthew Williamson. Isla’s slave-to-fashion character would be proud! The Wedding Crashers star says her own level of shopping addiction is comparatively mild, and where she sometimes loses control is in bookstores. Fisher’s hilarious fiancé is Sacha Baron Cohen, but she wouldn’t say whether the couple’s 13-month-old daughter is showing signs of comic genius yet. We thought that Claire Danes dashed down the red carpet and into the theater to get out of the cold, but she was probably avoiding reporters because the very next day, she announced her engagement to Hugh Dancy. Dancy says he does not, in fact, speak Prada like the character he plays in the movie. “I speak denim, basically,” the handsome Brit said. Joan Cusack says she’s not much of a shopper, but has overindulged in parking tickets. Sophie Kinsella, who wrote the best-selling Shopaholic books, insists that only bits of the character are autobiographical. “There are bits of my sister in her, too, I have to say it’s not all me!” Kinsella told us. |
