April 9-10, 2008 – OAN hit the presidential campaign trail this week, with Barack Obama in Pennsylvania on Wednesday, and with John McCain in Brooklyn, NY on Thursday. We followed Senator Obama rallying support at stops in Levittown, PA and later, in Malvern, PA, both in suburban Philadelphia. Obama has been hammering away at Hillary Clinton’s lead in Pennsylvania, traditionally an overwhelmingly Democratic state. (Clinton also spent Wednesday campaigning in Pennsylvania before heading to New York City that evening for Elton John’s fundraiser concert in her honor.) Thursday, Senator McCain seemed out of his element talking to small business owners in the Bay Ridge section of Brooklyn. The Republican presidential candidate spoke at a window distribution company where he’d set up a roundtable of local businesspeople. Then, he walked down the street to Verrazano Pizza, where he had trouble following instructions on how to fold the slice of pizza properly. New York City Mayor Mike Bloomberg introduced McCain, but again did not offer his endorsement. |
