Malvern, Pennsylvania, April 9, 2008 – We’ve noticed that famed photographer Annie Leibovitz has been accompanying Barack Obama on the presidential campaign trail and snapping photos, reportedly for a feature for Men's Vogue. On Wednesday, April 9, Leibovitz was in the press pit at both of Senator Obama’s stops in Pennsylvania, and we caught a few shots of her in Malvern. Using a Canon 35mm digital camera, Leibovitz tends to stay in one spot while shooting Obama onstage, in contrast to most of the news photographers who move around a lot while the candidate is speaking. While we can’t be sure she’s traveling with Senator Obama, Leibovitz followed him and his entourage out of the building through a secured door, while the other members of the news media were shuffled out the front, along with the public. Leibovitz shoots for Vanity Fair, Vogue and other major publications, and recently angered Queen Elizabeth II by asking her to remove her crown during a photo shoot. She previously photographed Obama for Men's Vogue in 2006. |
