New York, February 3, 2008 – We’re hardly able to catch our breath this week, racing from one fashion show to the next at the New York Fall ’08 collections, but we’re stopping long enough to tell you about the spectacular Adidas Y-3 show, which every season seems to top the one before. This time, guests walked a spotlit gauntlet through a dark, empty parking garage that ended at a white-curtained room the size of a football field, which was ringed by walls made of blocks of ice. (139 tons of ice, actually.) We sat shivering on bleachers facing an ice wall, and models walked the concrete “runway”, wet from melting ice. We wondered if anyone is actually, you know, athletic, or if they just wear cool active wear. Vincent Gallo told us that he used to box when he was younger, and that now he skis a bit. Actor Justin Theroux likes to ride a bicycle or a skateboard around town. He also likes skiing and snowboarding. “But I’m bad at those”, Theroux admitted. Ellen Pompeo and Chris Ivery, Helena Christensen and Ioan Gruffudd were all in the icy cold house. |
