Iowa, January 2-3, 2008 – Other than her charismatic husband Bill Clinton, Ted Danson and his wife Mary Steenburgen were the biggest celebrity supporters to accompany presidential hopeful Hillary Clinton as she campaigned throughout Iowa.  The actors introduced the former first lady at a rally in Indianola, Iowa on Jan. 2, and toured Clinton’s Des Moines offices the next day, greeting staffers and volunteers.  We did not see the couple at the subdued post-caucus gathering Thursday evening, after Clinton took third place behind Barack Obama and John Edwards among Iowa Democrats.  The Damages star and his wife were doubtful that they’d be going on to New Hampshire with Clinton because, they said, Steenburgen has to start shooting a movie.
