Los Angeles, January 12, 2008 – While Sunday’s Golden Globes awards were effectively shut down by the writers’ strike, the L.A. Film Critics Association – like the New York Critics and Broadcast Film Critics earlier this week – managed to pull off a weekend red carpet gala free of picketers on Saturday. There Will Be Blood was a big winner, with wins for director Paul Thomas Anderson, actor Daniel Day-Lewis, best picture and best production design. La Vie En Rose star Marion Cotillard took best actress kudos, and Christine Lahti, Tate Donovan, Sissy Spacek and Sidney Lumet were among those at the Intercontinental Hotel in Century City for the awards.
