New York, January
22, 2008 – Despite growing up among exotic animals
with wildlife conservationist dad Steve Irwin, and having her
own TV show, Bindi the Jungle Girl, Bindi Irwin was
intimidated by a common sheep in the middle of New York City. The
Australian wunderkind is in New York for Australia Week festivities,
and the event was to promote Australian wool. A sheep farmer from
Rhinebeck, New York, actually brought two sheep down to Columbus Circle
for the publicity stunt, but only one got out of the van – and
he was a handful. The feisty sheep was not very calm, and Bindi
stood aside while mom Terri Irwin handled the woolly
creature. Finally, the nine-year-old screwed up her courage and
put a tentative hand on the animal, with no mishaps. |
