New York, December 6, 2007 – Rachael Ray lived up to her talkative reputation at Thursday’s Lunchbox Auction.  She arrived late at the event at Saatchi & Saatchi’s downtown headquarters, and a couple of TV correspondents caught up with her near the Christmas tree in the lobby, and began conducting interviews.  Meanwhile, Priscilla Presley swept in with daughter Lisa Marie Presley and designer Anna Sui in tow, and a horde of photographers took off across the lobby in pursuit.  Taken aback, the Presleys rushed into the party.  They didn’t stay long, only for about ten minutes, and when they came back out into the building lobby, Rachael Ray was still standing in the same place with husband John Cusimano, still giving interviews! 

The party launched a fundraising auction for Food Bank for NYC and The Lunchbox Fund consisting of lunchboxes personally designed by more than 150 celebrities.  Rocker Michael Stipe, who hosted the evening, made his lunchbox out of sixty photos of friends wearing his glasses.  “I have Penelope Cruz, P. Diddy, Bono, Heath Ledger, Bjork.  It’s a good mix of people”, he told us.  Stipe confessed that he carried a lunchbox as a kid.  “A Munsters lunchbox.” 

Actor Billy Crudup used several different lunchboxes when he was a kid; his favorite was from the TV show S.W.A.T.  The box that he made for this auction features his handprint and another, presumably that of his 3-year-old son William.  “All I’ll say is that it has one small handprint and one large handprint”, Crudup said.
