New York, November 6, 2007 – Heidi Klum took over Lincoln Center on Tuesday! Don’t worry, she wasn’t singing in an opera (she’s leaving the singing to hubby Seal), she threw a fashion show to kick off the upcoming season of her Bravo reality series Project Runway. The looks coming down the runway were by designers we haven’t yet met, but will soon become familiar with - the fifteen contestants to appear on PR’s next season, most of whom will be eliminated. Most of the new season has already been shot, but of course, results are cloaked in secrecy. But for these designer hopefuls, including those who have been booted off the show, this was a chance to show their creations on a runway in front of a live audience – something that professional fashion designers do regularly. Plus, the sides of the tent were made of clear plastic, allowing passersby to have a blurry look at the proceedings. Maybe it was to make the experience more “real”, but just like every other fashion show we’ve ever attended, it started late and featured a long bout of waiting around, and Tim Gunn and Nina Garcia were in the front row. |
