New York, November 22, 2007 – While Shrek was the undisputable star at this year's Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade, a bumper crop of celebrities joined the green ogre on his march down Broadway. Fans of all ages and tastes cheered their heroes, from country music legends Dolly Parton and Wynonna Judd to Broadway leading light Sarah Brightman to R&B star Ne-Yo to Smallville band Lifehouse to 9-year-old queen of wildlife Bindi Irwin. High School Musical sensation Ashley Tisdale had the tweens atwitter, but screaming female fans really went crazy over her costar Corbin Bleu. Bored teenagers bonded with Good Charlotte’s Benji and Joel Madden, who looked like they’d been up partying all night, and kept their sunglasses on. (Joel’s pregnant girlfriend Nicole Richie must have been eating turkey for two; she was nowhere in sight at the parade.) Along the route, we also caught sight of Patti LaBelle, American Idol Jordin Sparks and even reconstituted boy band Menudo. |
