Los Angeles, November 12-15, 2007 – Just in time for holiday gift giving, Victoria’s Secret wants to remind us of lingerie.   Lots and lots of lingerie. So they didn’t just put on their spectacular show on Thursday, they combined it with a preview of the Spice Girls’ widely promoted upcoming tour.  (The racy fashion show even got unintentional – and unwanted – publicity when Kanye West had to cancel his performance due to the tragic death of his mother, Donda.)  Will.i.am filled in, and when the fashion show is broadcast on December 4 on CBS, we can also look forward to watching the Spice Girls lip-synch a couple of songs, and Heidi Klum even sings a few bars with hubby Seal!

There were a number of sexy people in the audience, all wearing more clothing than the models.  Ryan Seacrest, Eva Longoria, Hayden Panettiere, Stacy Keibler, Rachael Leigh Cook, Ugly Betty’s Ana Ortiz and Guns N’ Roses guitarist Slash, who puffed away on cigarettes on the pink carpet at the Kodak Theater.  Gerard Butler, who ran around in loincloths in 300, seemed to enjoy the show, as did Neil Patrick Harris and his male date. 

But the glitzy, over-the-top fashion show was just the icing on the cake.  On Monday, the Victoria’s Secret models flew into LAX on a customized Virgin America jet, where they were met by hordes of journalists, including us.  The next day, the Angels received a star on Hollywood Boulevard.  Wednesday’s fashion show was an all-day affair, with the press roaming around backstage during hair and makeup prep, during rehearsals and pink carpet arrivals and, finally, the show.  A bit of lingerie overload
