New York, September 18, 2007 – Angelina Jolie tried unsuccessfully to stay out of the limelight at the premiere of The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, starring her man Brad Pitt. “I’m just here with the kids while he’s working”, Angie said. Pitt could relate to his role as Jesse James, described as one of America’s “first celebrities” in press materials for the film. “Sure, I know a little bit about that”, he deadpanned at the premiere. Pitt said costar Casey Affleck is “amazing” as the assassin. “He’s been a friend for a long time, and we’ve been rooting for him to get something big, something that’s really worthy of his skills." Did Affleck have a thing for Westerns as a kid? “Not really. It’s wasn’t really the appeal for me doing this movie” he told us. “It was just a great story, great script, great character, great collaborators." George Clooney brought a date (finally!), but he dashed down the red carpet to the jeers of photographers. It seems George will have his own premiere next week, so he’d rather have his image splashed all over the newspapers at that time. |
