New York, August 7, 2007 – High school is a fairly recent experience for the young stars of Rocket Science, the comedy about a stuttering guy who joins his school’s debating team. So, we wondered, does being a professional actor in high school automatically make you cool? “Oh, no”, said Anna Kendrick, 22. “I grew up in Maine, and I don’t think most kids really got it. They just thought I was the weird girl that, like, had something to do with Broadway.”

Surely, a role in Election during his high school years in Omaha must have placed Nicholas D’Agosto in the popular clique? “No. I think actually they made fun of me”, the tall actor said while flashing a grin at his parents standing nearby at the Regal Union Square Cinemas premiere.

New Jersey native Aaron Yoo had a typical Korean-American upbringing. “Back in high school, my parents at one point told me that I was getting too many 'Bs', and uh, basically I had the option of getting 'As' or being locked away in my room”, he told us. How do his parents feel about the Disturbia star’s acting career now that he’s successful? "They loved it - when they started talking to me again, you know, like years later.”

Rocket Science is in theaters on August 10.
