Showdown at Dedication Premiere |

New York, August 14, 2007 – Mandy Moore looked glamorous in a form-fitting Dolce & Gabbana frock at the premiere of her new movie Dedication, but she was upstaged in the fashion department – by a man. Justin Theroux looked so sharp in a fitted suit and snappy fedora that photographers asked his girlfriend to step away so they could get a proper full-length photo of the man. (Normally, it’s just the opposite: the male is asked to move aside in order to get solo fashion shots of the lady.) We correctly guessed that the cropped-leg suit was by Thom Browne; the designer appeared, and interrupted Theroux mid-interview to adjust the buttons on the jacket, and then, satisfied, handed him back over to the journalist. But Theroux wasn’t as cool as he looked at the premiere; Dedication is his directorial debut, and prior to the screening, he told us he was “terrified”. Billy Crudup stars as a highly neurotic children’s book author and Moore is his collaborator. The actress burst out laughing when we asked if she’s working on a children’s book; and then she said, “I’ve actually, ironically, been thinking about one lately...” |
