New York, July 31, 2007 – Now that he’s unemployed, former
president Bill Clinton is involved with all kinds of
projects, and his Clinton Foundation recently launched the Millennium
Network, aimed at drawing younger folks to philanthropic endeavors. In
case his legendary charisma wasn’t enough, Clinton enlisted Grammy-winning
recording artist John Legend to entertain the well-heeled
under-40 crowd at a fundraiser on Tuesday at Manhattan's Roseland Ballroom.
Award-winning actor Jeffrey Wright talked about his charitable
work in Africa. Wright went on a bit too long, actually, and the audience
chatter rose as interest waned. But Clinton spoke next, and the room perked
up, and then Legend sat down at the piano and captured everyone’s
attention.
