New York, July 26, 2007 – Whether or not Latin music superstar Marc Anthony is a good actor, he’s certainly born to play king of salsa Hector Lavoe in the movie El Cantante. In English, the title is simply “The Singer”, which Marc is to legions of fans. And the title character has a Bronx-born wife, played by Marc’s Bronx-born wife, Jennifer Lopez.

The pair heated up Times Square on Thursday evening at the premiere, where they joked about working together. “Oh, it was terrible!” said Marc. “Hated it!” J. Lo chimed in, and then said, seriously, “It’s funny – I saw it as a much more relaxing experience than working with actors that you don’t know. We’re very comfortable with each other.” Marc added, “There’s a certain shorthand that comes with being a married couple – an unspoken language kind of thing.”

J. Lo’s best bud Leah Remini lent her support at the premiere, as did mom Guadalupe and sister Linda Lopez. El Cantante opens August 3.
