New York, June 6, 2007 – It’s that time of year when the Whitney Museum goes way downtown to the Skylight Studios for the ArtParty, a fundraiser for the museum’s independent study program. The fashionable sponsor was BCBG Max Azria, and the dress code was hippie chic, in honor of the Whitney’s new show, “Summer of Love: Art of the Psychedelic Era”.

The evening’s fashionable hostess was Kate Bosworth, whose very fashionable (and hot) boyfriend, model James Rousseau, accompanied her, but shied away from cameras. Bosworth said she’s “barely” begun to collect art, but hopes to. Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze, Jr. are budding collectors, having bought their first piece at auction just a few weeks ago. Ivanka Trump buys mostly photography, and Emmy Rossum and Rosario Dawson are still art virgins. Moby got his artworks in trade – from artist friends who owed him money.

The party was absolutely huge, with hundreds of people bidding at a silent auction, dancing, and sipping caipirinhas served up at the bars that sponsor Sagatiba cachaca had set up everywhere throughout the cavernous space.
