Los Angeles, June 15, 2007 – It was hot as blazes in Hollywood on Friday, and Tyra Banks was somewhat overdressed in a voluminous Roberto Cavalli gown, complete with a dress assistant, considering it was still afternoon. Tyra was at the Kodak Theater along with hordes of equally decked out soap opera and talk-show stars for the 34th annual Daytime Emmy Awards. Ellen DeGeneres won her fourth talk-show host award, beating out the ladies from The View. Did Barbara Walters and co. know the results in advance? They did not walk the red carpet. Bob Barker, who is retiring as host of The Price is Right after 35 years, took a game show award. Often surrounded by sexy women, the journos in the press room dubbed the 83-year-old the “Hugh Hefner of daytime TV”. Austin Peck and Terri Colombino of the soap opera As the World Turns wre bumping, grinding and dancing ballroom-style backstage, and they “dared” us to print it. We didn’t. We were disappointed that Rosie O'Donnell, who left The View after one highly controversial season, and Oprah Winfrey were not present on Friday.
