Los Angeles, June 2, 2007 – The annual Butterfly Ball, a benefit for Chrysalis, an organization that helps homeless people, always draws a glittering crowd, and is always held at a sumptuous private home. This year, Eric “Dr. McSteamy” Dane and his wife, Rebecca Gayheart, hosted the event, drawing a large contingent of his Grey’s Anatomy costars to a gorgeous Pacific Palisades estate located just down the street from Arnold Schwarzenegger’s home.

Two of the three engaged Grey’s Anatomy stars, Ellen Pompeo and Kate Walsh, were with their respective fiancés. The third, Katherine Heigl, couldn’t make it, but we’ll give her a break since her new movie, the well-reviewed Knocked Up, opened this weekend. While the bash was thick with Grey’s stars - Patrick Dempsey, T.R. Knight, Justin Chambers, James Pickens, Jr. and Sara Ramirez were all there – other celebs rallied to the cause.

Charlie Sheen and his lady friend, Brooke Mueller, who made their first public appearance as a couple at last year’s Butterfly Ball, showed their support. Marcia Cross, James Van Der Beek and Randy Jackson turned out. Jennifer Hudson was late.

Courteney Cox and David Arquette were no-shows, as was Paris Hilton, who opted for dinner at Mr. Chow instead.
