New York, June 20, 2007 - Rapper 50 Cent tore it up for the swells at an elegant Cipriani Wall Street benefit concert on Wednesday. Early in the evening, Fitty told us that he’d toned down his bling because he was wearing a suit. “You got a tie on, where you gonna put the jewelry?” he said. But by the time he took the stage with his band, G-Unit, the hip-hop artist had lost the suit and added a long diamond chain with a diamond encrusted cross dangling at the end. While Mr. Cent wouldn’t confirm the actual dollar amount of his gain on the sale of Vitamin Water – reported to be a cool $100 million – he wasn’t exactly shy about it. “People keep asking me questions about how much money I made from Vitamin Water, and I keep saying, a lot man”, he crowed from the stage. We asked 50 Cent, whose real name is Curtis Jackson, if he’ll change his name to A Dollar Fifty after this windfall. “That’s a great idea. I’ll think about it”, he said. |
