Anaheim, CA, May 19, 2007 – While the first two of this summer’s blockbuster “thirds” - Spider-Man 3 and Shrek the Third – opened to record box office receipts, we’d say Pirates of the Caribbean: At World’s End (aka POTC 3) broke records before it even opened – with the most crowded premiere in memory. We met Desperate Housewives stars Teri Hatcher and Ricardo Chavira, Masi Oka from Heroes, Chad Michael Murray and fiancée Kenzie Dalton, Jon Voight and Kobe Bryant and family among the hordes at the big opening. Once again, the premiere was at Disneyland, home of the Pirates of the Caribbean amusement ride. Live music and fireworks accompanied the screening. Keira Knightley was a no-show, reportedly shooting a film in Europe. Rumors that Johnny Depp would not attend proved false, and the colorfully dressed star signed autographs for young fans. It seems that Depp has removed the gold teeth that he wore while shooting the film. Rolling Stones rocker Keith Richards plays Depp's father in the movie, and even off-screen, he really does look the perfect Depp-dad. Orlando Bloom was positively conservative, dressed in a button down shirt and dark pants. Geoffrey Rush accessorized his suit and tie with a live monkey atop his shoulder – his character’s monkey from the film.
