New York, May 10, 2007 – There was pandemonium on Thursday at the Candie’s Foundation Event to Prevent fundraiser when Nick Lachey made an unannounced appearance alongside girlfriend Vanessa Minnillo, who was being honored. Reporters swarmed the couple, but Nick let Vanessa take the spotlight. In addition to her work in helping to fight teen pregnancy, she’s got a budding movie career. “I did a cameo in Fantastic Four. I was one of many girlfriends Johnny Storm has. I think I have two or three lines, and it took nine hours to film two or three lines, because there’s so much going on”, Minnillo said.

Kim Cattrall, another of the evening’s honorees, pleaded ignorance about the oft-rumored Sex and the City movie: “I have no idea! I’m hoping that they’re working on a script, and I’m hoping that we’ll be hitting the streets soon – in high heels!” Jackson Browne and Jennifer Hudson performed, and young musicians Ciara, Ben Jelen, Teddy Geiger and Cheyenne were at Cipriani’s for the gala. None of the women we spoke with was wearing Candie’s shoes.
