Los Angeles, May 21, 2007 – Knocked Up may be a comedy about the aftermath of a casual liaison, but loving couples littered the premiere at the Mann Village theater in Westwood. Katherine Heigl plays the knocked up character, but the Grey’s Anatomy star was with her fiancé, musician Josh Kelley, who had this to say about her diamond engagement ring: “I’m still paying it off. It was kind of expensive.”

Kate Walsh showed off her newly-minted fiancé, Alex Young, and the sparkling symbol of their love. Yet another engaged Grey’s Anatomy star (is it something in the water?), Ellen Pompeo, skipped the red carpet and slipped into the theater through a side door.

Barbara Walters and company may want to consider bringing back long-ago The View co-host Debbie Matenopoulos to stir up controversy once outspoken Rosie O’Donnell leaves the show. When a man inquired if the stones inlaid in Matenopoulos’ shoes were tiger eyes, she looked at him and said, “Are you gay?”, and walked away. The shocked gentleman told us that he is simply a gemstone enthusiast, and felt offended by the rude remark. Sometime E! correspondent Matenopoulos has a cameo in the film, as do Ryan Seacrest and Steve Carell.

Gary Shandling, Ben Stiller, Sara Ramirez, Elizabeth Banks and James Franco were also milling around at the premiere.
