New York, May 16, 2007 – We don’t know how Maxim selected its 2007 list of 100 hot women, but the lad magazine sure had a sizzling bunch of guests when they celebrated the issue on Wednesday. The red carpet at the Hotel Gansevoort was sopping wet, thanks to torrential downpours. Maybe Avril Lavigne’s shoes weren’t waterproof, but she barely posed for photos and then zoomed inside, bypassing the press. Avril’s eye makeup was dark this time, but she’s still rocking a lot of it!

A woman dressed in a firefighter’s uniform had been on the red carpet all evening, a Dalmatian-like puppy by her side. When Kate Walsh arrived, our photographer said, “Kate, hold the dog!” The Grey’s Anatomy alum obliged, sweeping the brown and white spotted pooch to her chest and nuzzling it. But instead of licking her face, the dog nipped Kate’s chin! The newly engaged actress was shocked, but she took it in stride, and her there was no visible damage to her gorgeous face.

Lindsay Lohan and her maybe-boyfriend Calum Best were very late, and arrived together, but each stepped out of the car separately (Linds is getting the hang of this paparazzi thing!) and each made a solo trip down the soggy red carpet.
