Los Angeles, May 20, 2007 – This year’s Taurus World Stunt Awards ceremony on a Paramount Studios lot was packed with awe-inspiring feats even before it began – folks walking the red carpet had to dodge the motorcycle flying toward them. A group of men surrounded a woman wearing a little white sundress, and smeared her with some kind of gel – and then set her on fire. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson stood by and calmly took in the flaming stunt woman – all before he opened the show by smashing a truck through a wall and driving it onto the stage.

While Johnson is a regular at the Stunt Awards, as is Governor Arnold Shwarzenegger, this year the gala drew a much higher celebrity quotient than we’ve seen before – perhaps owing to the big box office receipts for action movies like Gerard Butler’s 300. Josh Duhamel, Dennis Hopper, Will Ferrell, Ali Larter, Ken Watanabe, Elisha Cuthbert, singer Christina Milian and Fantastic Four stars Jessica Alba, Ioan Gruffudd, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis paid tribute to the daredevils who make risking one's life look easy.
