Star-Studded Tribute to Diane Keaton
Sarah Jessica Parker
Diane Keaton
Steve Martin

New York, April 9, 2007 – The Film Society of Lincoln Center honored Diane Keaton with a tribute to her career, and Woody Allen, Meryl Streep, Lisa Kudrow and Jeff Daniels were among those who attended. Steve Martin had a simple answer for the star-studded turnout at Avery Fisher Hall: We all love Diane”. He then revealed to us the best thing about working with her: “Mainly, it’s fun.” Martin planned a nice speech, and he delivered, even playing a song for Keaton! Our pals over at TheReeler.com taped it – go watch it, it's charming!

Martin Short promised more of a funny than nice testimonial for Keaton, with whom he starred in Father of the Bride. “I’m going to roast her. I can’t help it – it’s like Tourette’s”, Short said on his way in. Sarah Jessica Parker said of Keaton, “She’s wonderfully mad. She has one of the great brains of all time.” Fashion icon Parker got a bit flustered when asked about Keaton’s famously offbeat sartorial style. “I just like that she’s her own person. She has a great aesthetic. And she’s, you know, she’s a trailblazer, and I think she’s very brave.
