My Chemical Romance at The Forum in L.A.

Los Angeles, March 10, 2007 – My Chemical Romance brought their “Black Parade” tour to L.A. this weekend, and the theatrics held the crowd at The Forum rapt on Saturday. Lead singer Gerard Way opened the show by rolling onstage on a hospital bed, wearing heavy makeup and white hospital gown; later, the whole group wore black jackets reminiscent of high school band uniforms. While the show featured blazing pyrotechnics, confetti and sparklers on the stage, the band wasn’t too thrilled when the audience reciprocated: someone in the audience shone a laser pointer beam around, and Way barked, “Who has the f--kin’ laser pointer? It’ll make you go blind!” The offender immediately turned the light off.

MCR ended the concert on a lower key, turning down the glam, dressed in street clothing and playing some of their older songs. They stayed in the area, performing on Sunday in Anaheim.
