New York, March 14, 2007 – PepsiCo had to commission a study to find out that dancing for exercise is more fun than working out! Based on their findings, the company launched the Smart Spot Dance initiative, an instructional dance program that offers a fun way to lead a more active lifestyle. And to rub it in, they launched the program at a state-of-the-art New York City health club, where sweaty gym rats gathered to watch as we all followed along as Dancing with the Stars alum Mario Lopez and The Color Purple Tony Award winner LaChanze led us in (easy) dance moves.

LaChanze loved the idea when Pepsi approached her. “I thought, what a great idea: get people moving without making them go to the gym. I would definitely be an advocate for that.” We love this woman!

While LaChanze is a happily married working mom, Mario revealed that he’s single at the moment. So ladies, this is your chance to go to Paris this summer – Mario told us that he doesn’t yet have a date lined up for his pal Eva Longoria’s wedding to Tony Parker, reportedly scheduled for July in the French capital. "It's a ways off, so we'll see", he said.
