New York, March 1, 2007 – What evokes the 1980s for Tara Reid? “Boy George”, the starlet replied, before singing a few bars of “Karma Chameleon” to us. (Yes, Tara Reid sang to us.) The seemingly reformed party girl sipped only water at Reebok’s 25th anniversary celebration of their Freestyle collection, and she looked terrific wearing a vintage dress that she said she got in Portobello Road in London. The iconic footwear brand threw the 1980s themed bash at – where else – Culture Club – complete with female go-go dancers on roller skates wearing leg warmers, male break dancers, and a performance by the band English Beat. We found Cybill Shepherd dancing underneath the DeLorean automobile hanging from the ceiling, grooving to the deafening ‘80s soundtrack. Deafening; we didn’t hear a word of our conversation with the actress, who once wore Reeboks with a formal gown to an awards gala. Brooke Shields reminisced about her high school days, when you couldn’t leave the house without leg warmers and Reeboks to go dancing at Xenon. |
