New York, March 14, 2007 – Gosh, we’ve never spent this long at Coffee Shop before and remembered it the next day, but this time we didn’t have any of their awesome margaritas. We stopped by the Union Square restaurant on Wednesday after owner Charles Milite had announced that unspecified "celebrity customers" would be there in a show of support when the cafe reopened after being shut down by the New York City Health Department for minor code violations. And what do you know, the guy didn’t lie. Julianne Moore and her husband, director Bart Freundlich, popped in for lunch with daughter Liv. Once inside, Moore stopped to chat at Susan Sarandon and Stanley Tucci’s table. In the evening, Naomi Watts dropped in, solo, since her guy Liev Schreiber is busy every night starring in a Broadway play. The pregnant King Kong star wore a baggy jacket over her dress, deftly hiding her baby bulge. Watts met up with a handsome guy for some of Coffee Shop’s quasi-Brazilian fare; he turned out to be her brother, Ben Watts. |
