Los Angeles, February 10, 2007 – Naomi Campbell didn’t want to stop on the red carpet at Clive Davis’ legendary pre-Grammy Awards party on Saturday night, so her date, Quincy Jones, did the one thing guaranteed to get the supermodel’s attention: he messed with her clothing. Specifically, Quincy kept stepping on Naomi’s floor-swepping dress, forcing her to stop while he greeted friends and smiled for photographers. Naomi behaved herself, but there’s no telling what she did to her household staff once she got home.

Katharine McPhee tried to run inside the Beverly Hilton too, and flatly refused when asked to pose with Taylor Hicks, who bested her on American Idol season 5. Just at that moment, Hicks came over and greeted her, so she had no choice but to return the hug, and force a smile as the flashbulbs popped.

Whitney Houston looked terrific, was in great spirits and walked the red carpet with host Davis, who has supported her through the rough patches in her career. Davis later escorted AI alum Jennifer Hudson into the party.

Nick Lachey and Vanessa Minnillo took the leap and formally appeared together as a couple at the party. Nick’s ex-wife, Jessica Simpson, was nowhere to be found, despite the presence of her boyfriend, John Mayer, and sister, Ashlee Simpson. Davis’ protégé Alicia Keys was noticeably absent.
