Los Angeles, February 21-23, 2007 – Between running around trying on dresses and making hair and nail appointments for Hollywood’s big night, celebrities found time to go to countless parties in the days leading up to Sunday’s Academy Award ceremony.

The earth may be warming, but Avalon Hollywood was smoldering when some of the world’s hottest bachelors gathered for Global Green’s 3rd annual pre-Oscar party. Olivier Martinez, fresh from his split with Kylie Minogue, Orlando Bloom and renowned womanizer Adam Levine, whose band Maroon 5 performed, provided plenty of man-candy. Bachelorette numero uno was Penelope Cruz, who brought her sister Monica Cruz. Couples James Blunt and Petra Nemcova and Joshua Jackson and Diane Kruger had us tugging at our collars.

Also on Wednesday, Giant magazine feted their cover girl Jennifer Hudson at the Beverly Wilshire Four Seasons. Thursday, the post-Weinstein Miramax still pulled in the heavy hitters at their pre-Oscar shindig, with Jennifer Garner and Ben Affleck, Helen Mirren and Taylor Hackford and Stephen Frears all stopping in.

Janet Jackson, Ludacris, Jesse Jackson, Reno 911’s Niecy Nash and Bow Wow were among those helping Ebony to celebrate African-Americans in entertainment. Halle Berry brought her mom, Judith Berry to the bash.

On Friday, America Ferrera, Roselyn Sanchez and Grey’s Anatomy’s Sara Ramirez were among those at the National Hispanic Media Coalition’s 10th annual Impact Awards.
