New York, February 1-5, 2007 – No wonder fashionistas don’t eat! There’s no time between the endless fashion shows day and night during the collections. Does champagne have any nutritional value? It’s been our main dietary staple since Thursday night when New York fashion week began.

Miss Sixty got a jump on everyone by showing a day before everyone else, and their kooky fashions were matched by a colorful front row that included Pink, Adrien Brody with his Spanish girlfriend, actress Elsa Pataky, and Eve, who also sang for the crowd. The biggest star was the venue, the 7 World Trade Center office building at Ground Zero.

All day on Friday, the first day of Fashion Week, everyone was buzzing that Drew Barrymore, in town to host Saturday Night Live, and Cameron Diaz would be at the Rag & Bone show. But we had to make do with Sienna Miller, who sat front row with her mother Jo in the candle-lit Gotham Hall to give the London-based designers her support.

Then it was off through the rainy night to Baby Phat, where Britney Spears showed up unannounced, causing a huge media frenzy – which is what Kimora’s shows normally are, anyway.

The rockers came out on Saturday night, first at DJ Charlotte Ronson’s show at new Lower East Side hotspot The Box, and later at Rock & Republic’s massive show at Cipriani’s 42nd Street. After downing Cipriani’s famous Bellinis, we still managed not to trip while climbing the towering bleachers that Rock & Republic had filling both sides of the swanky hall. Carmen Electra, Carson Kressley and Eva Amurri were front row.

Freshly rehabbed Miss USA Tara Conner seems to have really cut back on the partying, because she was, as promised, at the Tadashi show bright and early on Sunday morning. However, though she was billed to be walking in the show, she really only came a few feet onto the runway at the show’s end, accompanying designer Tadashi Shoji. We were sitting right in front of her, and she looked clear-eyed, and pointedly avoided reporters backstage after the show.

Alicia Keys never removed her giant sunglasses and red leather gloves during Tracy Reese’s Sunday show. We chatted with Tim Gunn, who is thrilled about his new job, and Miami resident Kelly Rowland, who was shivering in the extreme New York cold.

Monday’s biggies were Luca Luca, where we sipped Bellinis (again!) bakstage while mixing with Carmen Electra, JC Chasez and the kids from The Hills.

Monday night, Marc Jacobs’ show pulled in Rod Stewart, Harry Connick, Jr., a newly redheaded Joss Stone, and Lenny Kravitz. Katharine McPhee, who has been on every list, actually turned up for this one. Last year’s jailbird Lil’ Kim was upstaged by Michelle Rodriguez, who wore what looked like a prisoner’s tracking anklet on her leg.
