Los Angeles, January 20, 2007 – Road trips were celebrated at the Producers Guild of America Awards, with Little Miss Sunshine beating out tough competitors The Queen, Babel, Dreamgirls and The Departed for the best feature film spot, and Cars taking the animated feature trophy. Meanwhile, despite Grey’s Anatomy’s win for best TV drama, awkwardness over the Isaiah Washington controversy kept the hit series’ Patrick Dempsey and producer Shonda Rhimes away from reporters and cameras during Saturday's awards gala at the Century Plaza Hotel. Ugly Betty producer Salma Hayek presented the Grey’s award, while Dempsey presented the best TV comedy award for The Office. Al Gore, Melissa Etheridge, Jake Gyllenhaal, Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart, Morgan Freeman, Tom Hanks, Wentworth Miller, Hugh Laurie and Tyra Banks were all on hand. Suzanne Somers, who lost her Malibu home to fire earlier this month, managed to find a dress to wear to the gala, and even to smile. |
