Los Angeles, January 9, 2007 - If Queen Latifah seemed to limit her movements on the red carpet at the People’s Choice Awards on Tuesday, it was because we’d warned her that her dress was ripped in the back. (The tear didn’t show up in photos, sorry readers!)

The star-studded red carpet was fun, and there were more surprises backstage at the Shrine Auditorium, where a whole crew of award winners showed up, some previously unannounced. Neither of our choices for “Best Awkward Moment” happened backstage. Favorite female star Jennifer Aniston arrived just moments before her appearance onstage, and she seemed unconcerned (or didn’t realize) that Vince Vaughn was in the house. Jen wowed us with her mega-carat diamond ring – that she said had to go back at midnight. Leading lady awardee Cameron Diaz was relaxed and avoided meeting her rumored ex Justin Timberlake, who was safely out of town, on tour.

Portia de Rossi took out a camera and snapped photos when her girlfriend Ellen DeGeneres was on the stage receiving her award.

Favorite male singer Kenny Chesney was looking so thin that folks were joking that he must be on the “Renee Zellweger diet”.
