Carmen picked up red high-heeled shoes, lingerie and sweats by Primp and Charlotte's Web. She also discovered denim line Rich & Skinny, and thought their jeans fit her perfectly. We agree. She looked at baby gifts for ideas for a friend who’s expecting.

But Carmen was careful while racking up the charges, checking prices and thinking seriously before buying – she nixed one jacket that she loved, because, she said, she already has three like it at home.

One thing Carmen couldn’t resist wasn’t even for sale: she was enchanted by a fellow customer’s 8-week-old puppy, and stopped to coo and play with the adorable pooch.
