Los Angeles, December 6, 2006 – To assuage his guilt about publicizing
the corrupt African diamond trade in the movie Blood Diamond,
Leonardo DiCaprio drove up to the movie’s premiere
at Grauman’s Chinese Theatre in some kind of “Eco Limo”.
Leo is willing to suffer for conservation - he looked cramped inside the
car. Fellow activist Jane Fonda wasn’t there this
time to make a statement; she was producer Paula Weinstein’s
date. (Weinstein also produced Fonda’s 2005 hit Monster-in-Law.)
Other folks who are socially conscious – or who just wanted to see
the film – included Marg Helgenberger and her husband
Alan Rosenberg, Lukas Haas, Samantha
Harris and rapper Nas.
