New York, November 8, 2006 – We can’t decide who caused the
bigger uproar – Eva Longoria or Beyonce
Knowles – when arriving at the L’Oreal Legends Gala,
a benefit for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Well, at least both stars
have womanly curves, in sharp contrast to so many in Hollywood, and in
sharper contrast to the life-size dinosaur skeletons they were standing
under in the great hall at the American Museum of Natural History. (The
carcasses are reproductions, not real dinosaur bones – yes, we had
a lot of time to read the plaques on the exhibits while waiting for celebrities.)
Although she shied away from the press, it was exciting to see Diane
Keaton, who, at 60, is doing an ad campaign for L’Oreal.
Keaton shunned her quirky fashion sense for the evening, opting for a
relatively conservative long black dress. However, Eva Longoria didn’t
get the memo, and wouldn’t take off her black gloves.
