Los Angeles, November 21, 2006 – We’d surmised that Britney Spears was annoyed about the Kevin Federline-bashing skit at the American Music Awards when she didn’t join us in the press room, as promised. People magazine confirmed our theory the following day, saying the pop singer, a surprise guest on the live TV show, was “blindsided” by the skit about her estranged husband. While the show was a star-studded affair, with top acts like Beyonce, Jay-Z, Gwen Stefani, Nickelback, Mary J. Blige and Carrie Underwood on hand, the buzz backstage during the three hours was about who wasn’t there: Christina Aguilera, Justin Timberlake and Jessica Simpson, to name a few. The Game and Snoop Dogg, both recently arrested, managed to overcome their legal difficulties and get to the Shrine Auditorium on time. VH1 phenomenon Flavor Flav jokingly hugged a blonde female photojournalist on the red carpet; and then went after the mortified woman again backstage in the press room. Bobby costars Christian Slater and Sharon Stone were again all over one another - he bowed down to her! Carmen Electra had her publicist adjusting her dress, and she came back for a second time after walking the red carpet – because the lighting had been off during her first pass. Ashlee Simpson switched last week’s short bob for long extensions – and she’s looking more and more like Ashley Olsen. |
