Los Angeles, October 16, 2006 – The big news at the Glamour Reel Moments screening wasn’t the fact that Jennifer Aniston made her directorial debut, or that Bryce Dallas Howard somehow found time to direct a short film while also acting in a couple of movies and getting married and pregnant this year. (Did her dad, Ron Howard, give her directing tips?) No, the big news was that contrary to popular belief, Sean Penn is not physically incapable of smiling. The notoriously cranky actor accompanied his wife, Robin Wright Penn, to the Directors’ Guild of America bash, and we couldn’t believe it, but he laughed! (Hopefully, it wasn’t at the thought of Aniston directing.) Ironically, Kris Kristofferson, who plays an ER patient in Aniston’s film, showed up at the screening with his wrist in a splint.
