Los Angeles, October 8, 2006 – Gosh, it didn’t seem like a year since the Rodeo Drive Walk of Style award was bestowed on photographers Mario Testino and Herb Ritts. And it wasn’t – 2005’s event was just last March. But October works nicely for closing down Rodeo for an evening to watch Kanye West perform in the middle of the street, surrounded by folks wearing Ferragamo shoes – legendary shoemaker Salvatore Ferragamo was this year’s honoree. Kanye’s fiancée Alexis was on his arm, and she kept hiding her hands in her pockets, but we managed to get a look at the huge diamond on her finger. Anjelica Huston presented the award again, with assistance this time from Eva Mendes. Among those paying style homage: Debi Mazar, Jenna Elfman, Jesse Metcalfe, Molly Sims and Cheryl Hines. Tracee Ellis Ross wore a long lilac-hued dress to the Walk of Style, the very same frock that Jennifer Beals wore on the same day – but to a different event, thankfully. Beals was over in Anaheim for the premiere of her movie, The Grudge 2, where star Sarah Michelle Gellar conspicuously nuzzled husband Freddie Prinze, Jr. to battle those pesky marriage-on-the-rocks rumors.
