Everyone's a Comedian at Autism Benefit
Jack Black
Stephen Colbert
Moby, Triumph the Comic Dog & Robert Smigel

New York, October 15, 2006 – Comedy Central put together a a fundraiser on Sunday, “Night of Too Many Stars: An Overbooked Benefit for Autism Education”, and an army of the world’s funniest people had us crying with laughter before the show even began. We weren’t on the red carpet to be insulted, but Ricky Gervais called us unprofessional for chewing gum, Amy Sedaris told us we were overdressed, and with one glance, Stephen Colbert stereotyped us as representing a certain magazine’s demographic. Oh well, at least Triumph the Insult Comic Dog left us alone and lifted his leg over Moby’s head instead.

Jon Stewart hosted, but skipped all the press fuss because he was still rewriting parts of the show right up until curtain time. Jack Black never made it to the after party at the Mandarin Oriental Hotel, because he left soon after opening the live broadcast. But Amy Poehler, Martin Short, Jimmy Fallon, Mike Myers and Kristin Chenoweth took in the great food and great views at the party.
