New York, October 24, 2006 – It’s funny how the Dixie Chicks became almost more famous for their 2003 anti-Bush administration comments than for their gorgeous harmonizing. The Dixie Chicks let us see the people behind the hype in the new documentary Shut Up & Sing, a chronicle of their lives after the backlash. The film shows that they’re not monsters, the singers said at the premiere in New York, although they don’t necessarily think that it will change the way people think about them. “I find it hard to believe that the haters are going to see the movie", said Natalie Maines. "I don’t think they’ll pay their money to go see what already makes them angry”, Emily Robison added with a rueful laugh. If you miss the film, check out the DVD when it’s released – the ladies promised that the extra outtakes include a wrestling match between them. |
