Los Angeles, October 7, 2006 – It was celebrity gridlock at the Beverly Hilton on Saturday when Johnny Depp was among the honorees at the Noche de Ninos gala, a benefit for Children’s Hospital Los Angeles.

We wondered if Depp had carried his pirate character too far, and stolen Jennifer Lopez’s lips; but no, they were there if you looked closely. Maybe Johnny did J. Lo’s makeup.

Jessica Simpson is apparently still having no luck in the romance department; she entered the gala with her hair stylist (and perennial companion) Ken Paves, and announced, “This is my date!”

Allegra Beck, Donatella Versace’s daughter and heir to the family fortune, made a rare appearance at the gala, as did the group Il Divo, currently touring with Barbra Streisand.
